Gombe State deputy governor Mr. David Miyims Albashi is dead. The state government has declared a seven-day period of mourning in the state with effect from Friday, November 4, 2011 following the demise of its Deputy Governor, Mr. David Miyims Albashi.
According to a release which was signed by the Secretary to the State Government, SSG, Alhaji Abubakar Sule Bagge and made available to Vanguard, the deputy governor passed away on the early hours of yesterday in Germany.
The statement also added that the Eid-El-Kabir celebrations will be low-keyed in the State, adding that his burial arrangement will be announced later. It could be recalled that the Deputy Governor was flown to Germany for medical attention after a ghastly auto crash which left him in a critical state in August this year.
The Statement reads in parts: “With total submission to the will of the Almighty God, His Excellency, Alhaji Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo OON (Talban Gombe), Governor of Gombe State, regrets to announce the passing away of His Excellency, Mr. David Miyim Alhbashi in Germany in the early hours of this morning’.
