The children's age ranged from nine to 12 years. The policeman was said to have had sexual intercourse with about nine children in their anus at Kandahar area of Bauchi metropolis before nemesis caught up with him, after he had allegedly injured his victims and the people of the community reported the matter to the police in the area who promptly arrested him.

The victims, it was gathered, were taken to the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Universty Teaching Hospital(ATBUTH) in Bauchi, where a senior medical staff member confirmed to journalists that the children were brought in for treatment at the paediatric ward of the hospital.

The staff member, who preferred not to be named, informed that the victims were brought in by policemen from the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) of the state police command for treatment, adding that they were treated and had since been
discharged.

The accused is currently being detained and we have commenced investigation into the matter," Ladan said.
"Whatever is the outcome of our investigation, we will explain it to
the public," he added.
