Mercury Records is a record label operating as a standalone company in the UK and as part of the The Island Def Jam Music Group in the US; both are subsidiaries of Universal Music Group.
Also, G.O.O.D. Music's parent company is Island Def Jam and for distribution, they use Def Jam (Within the US) and Mercury Records (Outside The US).
Can you spot D'Banj lodged in between Elton John and Big Boi, adjacent to Bon Jovi, Dot Rotten and Fabulous? (Picture above) This merely just shows the extent to which this international record deal can boost D'Banj's career.
Also, all of last week, D'Banj's "Oliver Twist" was Scott Mills' "Big Thing" on Radio 1. Scott Mills covered for Chris Moyles on his slot that week, so the track was played every morning on the Breakfast Show that week. Big things are really happening and I'm glad our Nigerian musicians are somewhere at the middle of it.
