The organizers of the African Movies Academy Awards (AMAA) have named telecommunications service provider, Airtel Nigeria as the official sponsor of event. This was announced to the media at a press conference in Lagos.
The Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, Rajan Swaroop at the event, said that the partnership provided the company a good platform to celebrate and reward excellence in the African film industry.
The award is scheduled to hold on April 22 at the Expo Hall of Eko Hotel and Suites, Lagos.
Hollywood actor, Jimmy Jean-Louis is the main host of the event which will have in attendance, several other Hollywood big names such as: Morris Chestnut, Lynn Whitfield, Maya Gilbert and Rockmond Dumbar.
The sensational Nigerian artistes, 2Face Idibia and Asa amongst others will also be at the event to thrill the audience.
According to the founder and CEO of AMAA, Peace Anyiam-Osigwe, this is the first time in eight years the awards will be holding in Lagos and the choice is due to consideration of logistics. The award, since its inception in 2005 had been hosted and sponsored in Bayelsa State.
