Senate of the Federal Republic has mandated its Committee on Education to undertake a comprehensive investigation into activities of universities indulging in post University Matriculation Examination test and the causes for failure of Joint Admission and Matriculation Board to conduct examinations sufficiently credible for acceptance by universities.
The resolution followed a motion on illegal subjection of candidates to examinations by universities after the test by JAMB, sponsored by Senators Heineken Lokpobiri, Ehigie Uzamere and 34 others. Sen. Lokpobiri had complained that despite statutory provisions for conduct of matriculation exams for entry into all universities, polytechnics and colleges of education in Nigeria by JAMB, the various universities were in the habit of conducting post UME tests.read full article HERE...
