SPRITE TRIPLE SLAM, THE 2011 GRAND FINALE

Hitmaker D’banj and EME Records’ Wizkid trilled thousands of young fans to electrifying performances during the grand finale of the Sprite Triple Slam on Sunday, August 7, 2011 at the Expo Hall, Eko Hotel and Suites.

The winners of the Sprite Triple Slam competition emerged after three rounds of performance with each taking home 1.5 million Naira. Justin emerged winner in the basketball category while Oobi from Abuja won the music category. The dance groupFurious Energy emerged victorious in the dance category. Speaking to Nigerian Entertainment Today (NET), Justin said he would invest his cash prize in his education and also develop his basketball skills.

The pair of Kelvin Pam and Nollywood actress, Nse Ikpe-Etim spiced up the evening as they brilliantly anchored the show. As expected, judges for the show were, Trybes Records boss, eLDee Da Don, DNMT dance instructor, Michael Ibilabor and former female basketball player Mobolaji Akinyode.

Cool DJ jimmy JATT was on the ones and twos as he dished out music to thrill the guests. Wizkid, who performed before the announcement of the winners came on stage with label mate, Skales and performed songs from his new album, Super Star.

D’banj who brought the show to end, performed alongside Wande coal, K-Switchand surprisingly rapper Ikechukwu as they all kept the crowd on their toes with their many hits from ‘Tongolo’ to ‘Mr. Endowed’
