For the next few months my answer to every question was I DONE DID IT. Who can blame me? Punch line after punch line Miss Alordiah revealed just how gifted she is lyrically. From playful rhymes like “To infinity and beyond, baby buzz light year” and the hard hitting “Now these fools don’t see me, they be Stevie No wonder” you cannot help but doff your hat to this Delta born Femcee. At 13 Eva Alordiah ventured into music and was formally introduced to the Nigerian music industry at 16. Shortly after Education would take top most priority and budding Rapper Eva went on hiatus up until 2009 when she returned with a bang. Her debut performance was on Cartiars’ club banger “Owo ati Swagger’.
The only girl and second child in a family of three, Eva is not a novice when it comes to carving a niche for herself in a male dominated environment. The In demand and currently unsigned artiste unlike a lot of her peers has always rapped and while she did pull choir duty singing, she has never doubted where her true calling lay. Sighting her inspiration as Life, people, situations and herself, Eva remains undaunted as she navigates the challenges thrown her way. Her source of strength is God and she says “Even when you think there aren’t any challenges left the person beside you decides to become a new challenge, but God gives me the strength to deal with it”.
Eva Alordiah is not in Rap because of the bright lights or perks that come with fame. She has chosen to pursue a rap career because she is passionate about writing and putting rhymes together. She sees Rap as an Art form and with a strong belief in her own abilities she continues to impress pundits and critics alike with her effortless delivery. To further prove her Rap credentials for the doubting Thomas’s who think this femcee might be a one hit wonder; Eva was outstanding on Suspects “I no send femcees remix”. In 10 years Miss Alordiah sees herself owning businesses. Be it fashion, beauty and music Eva says “I just want to be the boss of them”.
Eva is inspired by several International acts and they include; Lil Wayne she says “his hustle is bonkers”. Eminem she thinks is the reason she ventured into Rap. She also adds Kanye, Rakim, Common, Talib Kweli, JayZ, Nas and Damian Marley to that list. If for some reason Eva wasn’t into rap (now that would be a tragedy) she would be a Fashion designer, makeup artiste and mother to beautiful kids. Eva is extremely excited about that last prospect; she has dogs as a consolation while she waits to become a mother to her “beautiful kids”. Eva thinks she’s pretty boring and says her hobbies are restricted to chilling in front of a Telly or just being with her brothers.
So far doors and windows continue to open for this young, talented female as she recently became a writer for Thisday Newspapers and her column is titled “My Undecided State of Mind”. Not one to keep her fans in the dark on Eva related matters she is also a full time blogger and you can visit www.evaalordiah.blogspot.com for the 411 on her very busy everyday life. Eva is currently working on a collection of 5 to 6 songs that will serve as a teaser before her LP drops. She has titled this offering “The GIGO EP” and says it will show diverse sides of her. Am I expectant? Yes with every fibre of my being. Eva Alordiah is very good at what she does and with the focus and drive she displays now someone needs to ring the alarm because Miss Alordiah is her to redefine RAP one sick flow at a time.
Just in case you’re still on a long thing I suggest you listen to “I DONE DID IT” by Eva and her verse on Suspect’s “I NO SEND – femcees remix”
