Lagos State Governor Babatunde Fashola yesterday restated his administration readiness to complete the light rail project, named “Blue Line” before the end of 2012.
He said the project would quicken the implementation of inter-modal transportation in the “state”.
Fashola said the “Blue Line” would encompass other modes of transportation: water, road and rail, as practised in developed countries.
Addressing reporters at the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Ikeja, on arrival from Abuja, the governor said he was in the United Kingdom in 2008 to understudy how to implement the project.
The government has secured concessionaires for the project.
