On the streets of the Federal Capital Territory this weekend, troupes from the 36 states will parade down an 18 kilometre route. Tagged the ‘Jubilee Carnival’, the event will also record the participation of at least seven countries, including: Trinidad and Tobago, Egypt and Ghana. Carnival evenings are not left out, as a musical fiesta featuring International and Nigerian stars explodes at Eagle Square from 7pm till dawn. Other carnival events, below:
Saturday, November 27
9am: Main Street Carnival – Area 1 to Area 10 – NNPC Road to Eagle Square.
5pm: Opening Ceremony – Eagle Square.
Sunday, November 28
9am: Children Fiesta – Millennium Park.
3pm: Durbar – Equestrian Club Ground, Asokoro.
5pm: Traditional Food Fair – Old Parade Ground.
7pm: Cultural Night – Old Parade Ground.
Monday, November 29
9am: Masquerade Fiesta – Masquerade Carnival Route (Area 11 to Eagle Square).
3pm: Boat Regatta – Jabi Dam.
7pm: Command Performance – Transcorp Hilton Hotel.
Tuesday, November 30
9am: Second Street Carnival – From KIA Motor (Area 11 to Eagle Square).
5pm: Closing Ceremony – Eagle Square.
*Arts and Crafts Exhibition will hold throughout the carnival period at the Old Parade Ground.
