West Bromwich Albion finally ended a 366-minutePremier League goalless streak with the help of new signing Peter Odemwingie, as the Nigerian forward scored on his debut, giving Albion a much deserved 1-0 victory over Sunderland in the first match of the season at the Hawthorns.
Albion had not scored in their last four Premier League games, stretching back to a 3-1 home victory over Wigan in May 2009 and West Brom manager Roberto Di Matteo, looking to start fresh after last week's dismantling by Chelsea, made a handful of changes to his side.
